Every room is unique. Different building materials, room sizes, furnishings and types of use define the character and have a significant influence on the room acoustics. If it is balanced, we feel comfortable. We can concentrate, are productive and can have pleasant conversations. It is different when the reverberation time is not right and we perceive rooms as too echoey or too dull. This results in stress and a lack of concentration.
For us, optimal room acoustics begin long before the acoustic elements are installed. Whether it's offices, restaurants, law firms, medical practices, schools or daycare centres – professional room acoustics consulting is always the starting point for professional acoustic planning.
For uncompromising improvement of room acoustics, our team of experts carries out acoustic measurements (reverberation time measurements) on site. Equipped with state-of-the-art hardware and software, we measure the reverberation time in accordance with current guidelines and can thus determine the required acoustically effective area and identify various solutions. Our acoustics experts have many years of industry experience and are kept up to date with the latest regulations through regular training. Appointments for acoustic consulting and measurement can usually be arranged at short notice.
The Room Acoustics Planner (RAP) is our professional tool for translating acoustic measurements into practice and is the first step in acoustic planning. With the help of the Room Acoustics Planner, we calculate the requirement for acoustically effective surfaces and make suggestions for the placement of acoustic panels on walls or ceilings.
For less complex properties with very simple rooms (rectangular/square) made from standard building materials, it is also possible to work without measurements in the Room Acoustics Planner. In addition to surface materials, furnishings and people are also recorded, which, combined with the expertise of our acoustics experts, can lead to good results.
The room acoustics planner was developed for us by the room acoustics experts at Fuchs Raumingenieure in close collaboration. It is powerful, fast and translates complex measurement reports into understandable acoustic solutions.
We do not offer off-the-shelf solutions. Every customer and every property is unique and has specific requirements – that is why we start by listening, analysing floor plans and images – then we discuss which approach will lead to optimal room acoustics. Individual and personal.
Depending on the project structure, we visit the customer together with a dealer or on our own to get an idea of the property on site. Experiencing and understanding the rooms is not only important for the room acoustics, but also for the subsequent design concept. Proximity and customer dialogue are decisive quality features for us.
Once on site, we usually carry out the acoustic measurement straight away. Our acoustic experts measure the reverberation time using a six-transmitter microphone combination. We need 30–45 minutes for the first room – from the second room onwards, it goes a little faster. The results are discussed on site before being entered into the room acoustics planner for precise evaluation.
The measurement reports are then entered into our room acoustics planner (RAP). With its help, we calculate the acoustically effective areas and make placement suggestions for ceiling sails and wall panels.
In the final planning stage, room acoustics meets room design. Our room acousticians work with customers and retailers to develop a visual concept in which the colours and shapes of our acoustic panels blend into a harmonious overall concept and contribute to a balanced room atmosphere.
Wherever people come together, want to chat in a pleasant atmosphere, work, concentrate and be productive, we help to create the perfect room acoustics. We improve speech intelligibility, dampen and shield sound, and create zones within rooms for concentrated work. At the same time, our acoustic elements made from Swiss sheep's wool create visually appealing spaces and inspire people who value tailor-made solutions in manufacturing quality and personal advice.
Among other things, we equip offices, meeting and conference rooms, advise and serve restaurants, law firms, medical practices, educational institutions and hotels, and sometimes even furnish private living spaces with Woopies.

An acoustic measurement – technically referred to as a reverberation time measurement – is the most reliable way to obtain reliable results. In the case of simple, rectangular rooms, it may be possible to plan without on-site measurements. Our experts enter the relevant room data directly into our planning software, the Room Acoustics Planner (RAP), and create proposals based on theoretical assumptions. These may, of course, differ slightly from the measured reality.
We carry out room acoustic measurements for standard rooms up to 300 m² ourselves using standard procedures. If a precision procedure is required, for example in concert halls, we are supported by a specialist partner for acoustic measurements.
We carry out measurements in accordance with the globally recognised DIN-EN ISO 3382-2 standard (reverberation time in ordinary rooms).
For our acoustic measurements, we exclusively use high-quality USB measurement microphones (½" capsule), powerful sound sources (Bose) and state-of-the-art software (Akulap by Dr. Jordan) for reverberation time measurements in standard procedures.
We can usually offer appointments for acoustic consultations and measurements within a few days.
We need approximately 30–45 minutes for the first room; each additional room usually takes less time.
The time required to develop a room acoustics planning concept depends on the complexity of the rooms and the requirements. You will normally receive an initial proposal a few days after the room acoustics measurement.
